Most businesses are so busy following policies, rules, regulations, and customs they barely notice they're simply following the status quo for their industry. Don't do that. Question why you do anything and everything. Figure out what's necessary and what's just tradition.

Step 2 刪除不必要的步驟
DELETE UNNECESSARY PROCESS STEPS
從初次造訪的角度審視你的業務。然後,找出顧客購買過程中有哪些步驟是多餘的,或只是因循舊例,可以將之刪除。消除所有不必要且會造成阻礙的事物,你的顧客會感謝你的。
See your business through the eyes of a first-time visitor. Then identify which steps in the customer's buying journey you can eliminate because they are redundant or historical status quo. Eliminate anything that is not needed and which causes friction. Your customers will thank you.

Step 3 簡化及優化
SIMPLIFY AND OPTIMIZE
簡化的目標是針對現有流程,去除所有對顧客沒有價值的步驟,然後再進行優化,使流程更快速且可重複執行。這樣做必能帶來突破。
The goal of simplification is to take the current process for anything and get rid of all the steps that don't add value for the customer. You then optimize to make the process fast and repeatable. This can and will produce breakthroughs.

Step 4 加快循環週期
ACCELERATE CYCLE TIMES
在簡化及優化流程的同時,也要努力提升速度,目標是每周加快50%。要達成這種高難度目標,關鍵在於掃除一切障礙。這將大幅加速你的現金流、徹底改善你的營運,並帶來實質利益。
As you simplify and optimize your processes, aim to speed them up at the same time. Aim for 50 percent increases in speed each week. Removing the barriers to that kind of stretch goal will be decisive. It will super charge your cash flow and improve your operations radically and beneficially.

Step 5 最後一步才做自動化
AUTOMATE LAST, NOT FIRST
聰明人通常會在開發解決方案的同時著手編寫程式,請避免這樣做。先簡化流程,再優化流程,釐清你究竟想要什麼、需要什麼,最後再讓工程師進場。這才是更好的做法。
Often smart people will tray and code software in parallel with developing the solution. Avoid that. First simplify your processes, then optimize them, and figure out exactly what you want and need. Hold the coders until the end. That's a better way to do it.
