Elon Musk: From Lonely Nerd to Billionaire
伊隆‧馬斯克：從知識宅到億萬富翁

What would you do if you were the richest person in the world? Would you buy your own private island, where you could be waited on hand and foot, or would you use your cash to help save humanity? Elon Musk, one of the wealthiest people on the planet, hopes to accomplish the latter.

The oldest of three children, Musk was born in South Africa to a South African father and a Canadian mother. When his parents divorced and his mother took his siblings to Canada, Musk decided to stay behind. He would later regret this decision as he ended up isolated from and bullied by his peers for his love of books. At 17, he left for Canada with the goal of immigrating to America.

Musk was eventually accepted into Stanford University in the United States. There, a few investors offered him, his brother, and a friend some funds to start a software company called Zip2. It was quite successful, and Musk took his profits from its sale to found a business that would later become the online payment company PayPal. The sale of PayPal made Musk extremely rich, allowing him to invest in Tesla Motors after founding the rocket manufacturer SpaceX. From there, the sky was the limit.

三個孩子中排行老大的馬斯克出生於南非，父親是南非人，母親是加拿大人。父母離異、母親帶著弟妹回到加拿大時，馬斯克決定留下來。後來他後悔這項決定，因為他熱愛書籍而遭到同儕孤立和霸凌。十七歲時，他前往加拿大，目標是移民美國。

馬斯克最終被美國史丹佛大學錄取。在那裡，有幾位投資人提供他、他弟弟和一個朋友一些資金，成立一家叫做Zip2的軟體公司。這家公司相當成功，馬斯克拿賣掉這間公司的獲利成立了一家後來成為線上付款公司PayPal的企業。出售PayPal使得馬斯克變得非常有錢，讓他在創立火箭製造公司SpaceX之後能投資特斯拉汽車。從那時起，他的成就無可限量。
