透過英文版導覽手冊的發行，為國外讀者介紹認識宜蘭的窗口－蘭陽博物館，包含博物館興建歷史、建築特色和展示內容等，讓更多人可以一探蘭陽之美。
矗立於宜蘭縣頭城鎮郊外的海邊，一棟三角建築，仿台灣東北角海岸常見的單面山地景，擷取地質形貌之特色，透過幾何造型及藝術手法，轉化成與環境融合的建築，它就是歷經18年籌建，於2010年10月16日開館的蘭陽博物館。位於清代烏石港舊址，背山面海，可遠眺龜山島及太平洋，成為蘭陽平原的新地景！
蘭陽博物館館內有常設展、特展、兒童探索區等，以『宜蘭』為主題，展示在地的人文歷史及自然生態的多樣面貌，成為認識宜蘭的窗口，是國內首座以地方為主題的綜合博物館。透過研究典藏、展示教育、公眾服務，形塑了一個動態的鄉土教育場域，並致力促進「宜蘭就是一座博物館」，扮演縣內博物館事業發展的核心，守護這塊孕育蘭陽文化的珍貴土地。
