The centralized quarantine facilities serve as fortress spaces preventing all manner of high-risk individuals from entering the broader community, and serves as the last stalwart line of defense in Taiwan’s national quarantine system. This is especially so during the three-level alert period, when they share more responsibility for medical capacity and ability, as without the enhanced Collective Quarantine Facilities, it would have been almost impossible to control the large-scale local epidemic in Taipei and New Taipei City within only 3 months. Our centralized quarantine facilities stand at the forefront of the epidemic tsunami preventing its’ spread. During Taiwan’s most turbulent moments, they bore the brunt of the heaviest responsibility and performed the most critical role in guarding all of Taiwan’s populace while engaged in a truly epic battle against the "epidemic". Their success is indeed worthy of inclusion in all Taiwan`s public health textbooks.
